An introduction to HTML
HTML (hypertext markup language) is what powers the front end of all websites on the internet and formed the basis of what we all call the web today. When is was first invented by British programmer Tim Berners Lee back in 1991 it was very rudimentary and was essentially a standalone way of building web pages, today the technology has development upon it's origins massively and is used in tandem with various other technologies to build modern web apps. The fundamental way it works has remained the same.
HTML comprises of "block" elements and "inline" elements to construct a page which displays as desired when rendered. These were first coined "HTML Tags" and they follow a nested pattern so that the elements can contain sub elements.
